September Gear Up and #writemotivation post

So, here it is. September. Still trying to figure out where time disappears to. I think it's a conspiracy. Of course, I haven't had coffee yet this morning, so that could also be the problem.

September is a goal month with #writemotivation, so you'll be seeing more posts about my progress.

Last month, I set some goals even though I didn't need to. My goal was simple. Write 15,000 words on my new WIP. I got close. Really close. I was within 100 words of it. This makes me happy. :D Of course, that could just be me going insane because of my new story. With writers, one can never be truly certain. :D

So, here are my goals for September. When I signed up I missed one goal, so I'll add it in.

  1. Write 15K more on HJ
  2. Blog once a week
  3. Try and squeeze in some fun reading in there (non-beta/crit stuff). Not sure how that will pan out though!
  4. Read slush pile for Niteblade (a little behind on this one)
  5. Cheer on my #writemotivation peeps!
Totally doable.

I got this.

I might twitch in a corner when I'm done.

Have a random picture of a volcano. It's an awesome picture.
Chaitén Volcano in Chile
'Till next time.

One last thing. I made a fan page. Go ahead and like it. My ego needs the boost. :D

  3. Oh you totally got this thing Andrew ;) Good luck!

I’m working to finish the first draft of my novel this month – goal of 6000 words today to have any chance of doing it within my two-week self-imposed timeframe. But I think I’ve got this.

…Might have to come join you in the twitching corner when I’m done though!

    By-the-way, the whole ‘time-disappearing-is-a-conspiracy’ thing? I think you're onto something there…

    Write on!

I'll save a padded room for you when you're done. :D

  4. I love seeing your nightly #writemotivation tweets - you're such a great example of getting a lot done by chipping away at it a little each day. I need to me more like you!

Wishing you a very productive #writemotivation month,

    1. Thanks Jai! I'm already over 3K for this month, so I'm doing well so far. :D

Yeah, my wife said that they already have Christmas stuff hitting the store she works at. Crazy.

  6. I'm not sure if the volcano is supposed to terrify me, or inspire me. I'm going with inspire, just because I'm a crazy kid like that. We know you can do it and meet all your goals. I didn't, last month, but... you know all that drama. This month, my goals are simpler, and I can do them. :) *have some cookies on me*

And yes, you will make your goals and I know about last month's drama.

I promise to be careful while eating the cookies off of you...oh wait...that didn't sound right...err...
